VISIONS FOR IDAHO
Here is a list of projects that should be considered for the future trasprotation needs of
Idaho. This list mostly focuses on the Boise and the Treasure Valley regions. Since these areas are continuing to see explosive
growth and a dificiency of good travel routes to help commuters get where they need to go, a more aggressive approach to urban
planning is needed.
Visions that need priority attention are:
Payette River Canyon - Widen and upgrade SH-55 through Payette River Canyon adding wider shoulders and more four-lane passing sections
Garden Valley - Recommission Banks-Lowman Road as a state highway (Possible ID-56)
Lewiston - Realign US 12 Bypass in Lewiston to promote route continuity
Twin Falls Region- Upgrade to US 93 from Twin Falls to Shoshone to 4-lanes divided Highway.
Treasure Valley - A new Interstate 284 loop that runs along the southern Treasure Valley and loops back to I-84 near Caldwell.
Treasure Valley - Kuna SH-69 Extention (To I-284 Vision project)
Treasure Valley - 20/26 Widening and upgrade-Caldwell to Boise
Treasure Valley - New State highway over Little Freezout/Emmett Rd north of Middleton (ID-59)
A new Interstate 11 corridor in Idaho passing near Nampa/Meridian heading to north toward Lewiston and Spokane and south over the Owyhees to Winnemucca and ultimately Los Angeles in the south.
