ULTIMATE LAS VEGAS INTERSTATESHere are some ideas to make improvements to the interstate system for Las Vegas. Below is a map with ideas proposed for future interstate routes. Nevada Ultimate Interstates
Arizona's improvements to its interstate system include widening of existing routes and an addition of a new major north-south route throughout the state. as well as regional interstate additions as well. INTERSTATE 7A major link in the western interstate system is a link that needs to be added is Interstate 7. which would travel from Phoenix AZ to Las Vegas and beyond. This vital transportation link is being served currently by I-515, US-95 and US-93 which is partially freeway, and mostly a two to six lane highway. Building a new interstate along this corridor is ideal because it not only will link Phoenix to Las Vegas, it will provide a link to western Nevada and Reno as well. The routing in greater Las Vegas would travel along the US 93 south of the city and continue across the new hoover dam bypass into Arizona. From there the route continues to Kingman and then Phoenix. Through Las Vegas the route would travel along I-515 replacing that route number. North of Downtown it would travel along US 95 heading northwest toward Tonopah and Reno. INTERSTATE 207Interstate 207 would be a short route that would travel along Summerlin Parkway from US-95 (future I-7) to Clark County 215 (Future I-215). INTERSTATE 215Las Vegas plans to complete the beltway are underway. eventually all portions of the beltway will be constructed to full freeway standards. Currently the I-215 portion in red is the only part of I-215 that is actually signed as interstate. the Blue portion to the west and north will eventually become part of I-215 once it is fully updated. The eastern section would complete the loop and is not currently planned at this time. The map shows an approximate alignment for an eastern leg that would complete the loop. |
